Bonding Buns...

These aren't the best/ most flattering shots of me/ my tummy but to me, they are priceless. These will be one of the very first pics of little bun 'bonding' with his sibling aka little bun #2.

One evening after, dinner we were just chilling in front of the TV and little bun just toddled over to me and started poking and pressing on my tummy. After he had enough of poking/pressing/ prodding little bun #2 (poor baby... LOL!!), he suddenly just rested his head on my tummy!

I am so glad I had my trusty iPhone with me to capture the moment.. Anyway after he buried his head on my tummy for a while, he got bored and went off to play.

(Following the advice of friends, I have been telling little bun that his little sibling is inside Mommy's tummy. However, I really don't think he is old enough to understand a single word I've said at all.. it's a futile effort in my humble opinion!! In a way, this is a good thing because since he is too young to understand, I hope it also means he is too young to feel any jealousy when little bun #2 comes along.)

A heart warming moment for me to sit back and watch my 2 boys bonding... Mark was reading to little bun (with me and Hershey supervising in the background.. hehehe).

After a while, the (slack) Daddy decided that he needed a break and little bun continued flipping through the colourful book on his own. I hope that he will be a keen reader like I was (I used 'was' because I no longer have the luxury of picking up a good book and immerse myself in the plot... 'me time' is no longer existent ever since little bun came into my life, and I suspect it will be even more elusive once little bun #2 comes along! But again, no complaints.. To be where I am today is what I wanted more than anything).

It's a Barney Day!

I suppose most kids will go through this.. Little bun has suddenly discovered Barney and has fallen in love with the purple dinosaur almost overnight. We have been watching repeat episodes of Barney non-stop and now, Mark and I can sing most of the songs **wry grin**.

While we were out yesterday, Mark took little bun while I went off alone to run my errands. Had a spur of the moment thought and decided to pop into Toys"R"Us. I wanted to give little bun a surprise by buying him a Barney toy since he didn't have any. Little did I know that Mark had the exact same idea. So yes, little bun ended up with not 1, but 2 Barneys. I bought a smaller version (seen in the pics above) while Mark went all the way out and bought him a huge one that is as just as big as little bun when he is sitting down.

I commented to Mark that I cannot believe how we have both had the very same idea. Plus I should have known better, i.e. he would have gone and gotten him the toy and I should have informed him of my intention so we wouldn't end up getting 2 Barneys. Mark's reply to me was simple... he said that we both love little bun so much it just became an 'instinct' to give him everything he wanted.

The look of sheer delight on little bun's face was priceless when we presented him with the Barneys! He recognized it immediately and reached out to grab and hug the stuffies. I had an 'awwwww' moment looking at my little boy cuddling the toy so contentedly.

(Later in the day, I found out that little bun's doting aunt also bought him a Barney stuffie!! So yes, someone received THREE Barneys in a day!! He's spoiled rotten but I'd also like to think that he's being loved to the core as well).

"Whatcha looking at, Mommy?"

Destructo Bun

Made the mistake of 'trying to reply to just 1 email' while looking after little bun. Anything new that is within his reach will earn his undivided attention until he gets bored or the new thing gets out of reach.

I barely managed to boot up my company laptop before his little hands began tapping/ pounding gleefully away on the keyboard. Within 10 seconds, the normal boot up screen was replaced by a blank blue screen before my laptop shut down on its own.

Maybe it's his way of telling me 'Mommy, it's past 6pm, time for Meeeeeeeee!!'..

Guess who is Mr. Destructive? He was quiet for a few minutes (too quiet for comfort so I should have suspected that something was amiss). When I found him, he had swept all the magazines from my bedside table onto the floor and was busy tearing and eating(!!) them.

Little Bun is 15 Months Old!!

Today marks the '1 month anniversary' of my cerclage and more importantly, it is also the day my champion turns 15 months old!!

Message to my cervix: Please, please remain status quo for as long as you can.. Please, please do not have any reaction to the stitch that was put in a month ago.

***************************************************

Dear Little Bun,

Happy 15 Months!! You have brought an incredible amount of indescribable joy into Daddy and Mommy's lives ever since the moment you made your grand entrance 15 months ago. We love watching you grow and meeting all your milestones... You have started to develop your own little character and voicing/ showing your likes and dislikes. You point to the things that you want with a 'wah' (??) and you shake your head vehemently when you have had enough to eat. Your current favourite song/ MTV is 'Gangnam Style' (no thanks to Daddy's bad influence) on your iPad mini, and you have started walking steadily unaided.

In case you are not aware, I still sneak you kisses on your head/ forehead/ cheeks when you are sound asleep and I cannot enough of sniffing your unique baby scent. I love looking at your long eyelashes and rather flat nose (according to Daddy, you got your flat nose from Mommy). You have this really impish look and mischievous grin when you are up to no good.

Every moment spent with you is a moment we treasure. We love you so very, very much.

xoxo,
Daddy and Mommy

Playing with his new toy given by his Godma. He is very blessed cos his Godma spoils him big time with a regular supply of toys and clothings, especially when she travels on business.

Chooo Chooo... Little bun had his first ever kiddy ride when Grandma brought him out last week!! My mom told me he had a lot of fun and was reluctant to leave when it was time to go.

I don't know why it has never occurred to Mark and I to let him try out one of these rides when we take him out. Being the paranoid parents that we know we are (guilty as charged), we are probably too worried about germs. Ok, I will make sure the next time we take him out, I will let him go on one of these rides (and then wash his hands thoroughly afterwards!!).

Little bun had his first Babycino! (Umm.. I scooped away all the chocolate and cocoa powder though.. not certain about when is the right time to introduce chocolate/ cocoa to him). He loved the foam though but wasn't very interested in the milk.

Look who can walk now!!

Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night with a startle because I feel little bun 'missing' from the space between Mark and I (yes yes, say what you want, we are still letting him sleep between us instead of in his own room/ bed). Not sure why, but during pregnancy, I tend to be a very light sleeper.

Anyway, this is what greeted me one night when I opened my eyes. He was just quietly sitting up and suckling on the corner of his pillow!! Hehehe.. I had to chuckle cos he is just too cute!!

Happily playing/ scribbling with the new toy of the day which his daddy bought him. Daddy claims that "ALL kids must have this drawing board"

Right. Whatever.

We made an unplanned visit back to Mark's home in Malaysia last Saturday. It was great timing because Mark's cousin from Australia happen to be back visiting as well with her 3 kids. We rarely get to see them and it's the first time we've seen her youngest child, who is already 2 and-a-half years old.

Anyway, we took this rare opportunity to take a photo of Mark's grandma with 8 of her great grand-children (another 3 are missing from the photo). It took us a while to get all the kids organized and have a somewhat decent photo taken.  There was a lot of noise, a lot of chaos, but also a lot of fun. 4 generations under one roof, with the oldest at 92 years old and the youngest at 1 month old (not counting the 2 babies who will be arriving into the family within the next 4 months).

Little bun was (surprisingly) well-behaved on that day... he played with the younger kids and allowed everyone/ anyone to hold him. Fussing was minimal, non-existent in fact, and he ate like a champion. He made Mark and I so pleased cos everyone was commenting what a good boy he is. (*Note: then he took 'revenge' and became 'cranky bun' yesterday).

Oh and he walked more than 8 steps on his own too.. stupidly we didn't record it on video!! Woohoooo... it should be anytime now that he starts becoming more confident with walking without holding onto our hands/ furniture. Admittedly, Mark and I do spoil him by carrying him around a lot, hence he has no real motivation to want to walk on his own. But well, I do agree with what my aunt said to me before.. she said once he learns how to walk on his own, he wouldn't want us to carry him any more, so I might as well stretch and enjoy the time he is wants us to carry him!

My ever so loving hubby brought back a packet of peanut butter M&Ms the other day and proceeded to open and eat it right in front of me, blissfully unaware (or ignoring) the fact that his poor wife has gestational diabetes and has to monitor her blood sugar level closely. I wouldn't have otherwise wanted to eat it IF he hadn't been eating it right under my nose. Ohhhh man, the insane craving for chocolates kicked in (and I am not even a chocolate fan).

I begged.. yes, begged, him for ONE tiny morsel to satisfy the craving.. Ah, what a kind soul he is. He gave me ONE. Yes, ONE. I suppose I should be grateful and kiss his toes or something.. Anyway, it was so damn good. I made sure to savour it for as long as I could. Yummmm.... (Hmmm.. it must be psychological, but I think I can still taste the rich creamy creamy chocolate swirling in my mouth).

Had dinner with my 2 favourite boys at Mark's favourite hangout (Brotzeit) where he can have a chilled beer (or two). Good thing is I don't mind going there because I like the food there! The other plus is that the environment is noisy enough to drown out the noise little bun makes! Hehehe...

Now that the festivities have come to an end, it is now time for MARK to bring down the Christmas tree. I suppose MARK cannot put it off any further and this weekend is the time to do it. I am not sure how MARK is going to do it cos taking down all the ornaments is not going to be easy since we got a tad carried away with all the ornaments. I also don't know where MARK is going to find a place to store the tree and all the ornaments. I do hope MARK will clean the floor after he is done cos a lot of glitter drop off these ornaments. Oh yes, MARK, I don't know how, but I hope you will store them according to their colors (i.e. red in one box and gold in the other). Plus it'd be good to ensure that the long string of lights are tangle-free when you keep them so that I won't have a headache next year trying to un-tangle them.

Thank you, MARK. (Heehee.. got my blatant hint??)

Little bun admiring (ok,  destroying) the baubles) before we take it down.

We spent New Year's Day 2013 with an early breakfast outing cos little bun woke up at 5am. The Lee Family had an early night the day before.. we were all in bed and asleep by 10pm. So much for wanting to watch the countdown.. **snigger**. Since we were up early, Mark decided to venture to a new place (I suppose it must be one of his New Year resolutions cos the both of us are creatures of habit and rarely try anything new).

Oooh my, the food was surprisingly and amazingly yummy (though a tad pricey). Reminded me of the good ol' breakfast that we used to have at those little cafes during our uni days in Melbourne. Ahhhh.. what a wonderful way to kick start the year!!

They have a wide assortment of muffins, scones, cupcakes, tarts, etc... I think I had a sugar rush just looking and sniffing the aroma!!
