Mark introduced little bun to Shrek a couple of weeks back and oh boy, was it the biggest mistake ever!! Little bun is totally besotted with the show and we have been watching it EVERY night before his bedtime. Every night between 7.30pm to 9.30pm, it is Shrek time in our house. On weekends, we sometimes watch it up to 3 times a day (not kidding!!). This means that Mark and I have to give up our regular programs on TV in order to watch Shrek with him.

Little bun can sit quietly in front of the TV for a good 45 min to 1 hour to watch the show. We have tried to introduce him to the sequels so that we can have a breather from watching that same movie over and over again and again (and again), but he insisted on watching only the first one.. I prefer the sequels with Puss in Boots in them.

Another 3 hours to go till 'Shrek o'clock'.

Little bun and his god-sister aka my god-daughter, Rynnae!!

While she is only 10 months older than he is, she behaves like a real big sister!! She is always looking out for little bun (who sadly, wasn't very appreciative of her good intentions!!) and allows him to share her toys and take away her treats. When he was cranky (naptime), she promptly handed his favourite toy over to Mark (who was carrying the cranky bun). Such a little sweetheart.. and she is getting prettier by the day too!

For us adults, it was so funny watching the two of them toddling around the house, talking baby talk and gesticulating wildly... I suppose only they can understand each other!

The Lee Family's version of 'The Fantastic Four' (mini edition). The 2 elder ones are born 10 months apart in 2011, and the 2 younger ones are born 2 months apart in 2013. When the 2 little ones start running around in another year's time, the 4 of them will be a force to reckon with... There  will be chaos in the house when the four are together and no adults will be spared! LOL!!

Bruised Bun

Poor little bun fell off his tricycle... while the impact of fall wasn't bad, he scrapped and bruised his forehead. Of course it resulted in a brawling episode (him) and someone fluttering around like a hysterical chicken without a head (me) trying to assess his injury/ clean his wound/ calm him down, etc.

Trying REAL hard to remind myself not to be an over-protective/ paranoid mom, but it is REALLY hard. I know all kids are prone to falls/ bruises/ scrapes and what not, and I cannot and should not be over protective of him or else he'd end up a mummy's boy, but I REALLY want to wrap him up in bubble wrap and keep him close to me where I can always protect and watch over him.

Okayyyyy.. Fine, I know it was just a superficial wound that'd heal up in no time, but he IS my precious.

Sigh....

Good thing Mark is here to keep the balance and keep me sane. (Deep down, I think it pained Mark as much as it pained me too, but in order to keep me sane, he acted really calm about the whole thing.)

And so we start a brand new school term... We managed to changed little bun to an earlier class at 9am (previously it was at 11.30 am, which clashed with his nap time) and this worked out so much better for him. He was happy and alert throughout the class, and the kids in this class were closer to his age group than the previous class. Most of them were around 2 years old, give and take a couple of months, whereas the previous class had more kids who were around 3 years old. Another plus point is that the class size is smaller too, so it's less rowdy/ chaotic!!

Happy to see that my little champ is happy to be back in class after a month long break. This time round, he displayed a lot more confidence (just check out how he happily plopped himself right in front of the class/ teacher!!). Previously he would rather sit on daddy's lap.

This is his favourite toy in the school.. never fails to make a beeline for it when class is out!

A colleague from Thailand gave little bun this cute Jim Thompson tee with a chubby elephant embroidered on the front when little bun was around 9 months old. Little bun was wearing it up till maybe he was around 16 months old when his head got a bit too big to fit through... otherwise, it still fitted him nicely.

I just realized recently that my mom let little bun #2 wear it and it ummmm.. was quite snug. Seriously..

  1. Play with rubber duckie
  2. Walk over to your little brother who is snoozing contentedly on his rocker
  3. Leave rubber duckie on your little brother's chest and while making sure to wake him up in the process
  4. Ensure that rubber duckie is sitting comfortably on little brother's chest
  5. Walk away quickly
  6. Little brother - "??!!!!!!!!!!"
  7. Feign ignorance when mummy asks 'Who did this??"

Little bun had a play date with our neighbours upstairs.. Their little girl, Faith, is a couple of months older than little bun. She turned 2 years old on Monday and they invited us over for the cake cutting. Our 2 families have been hanging out quite a fair bit.. breakfast, dinner, etc. We get along pretty well with Faith's parents (same age group) and it's really nice that the kiddos can have play dates frequently (plus it is so convenient.. just a lift ride away!!).

Faith's mummy recently found out that she is expecting and the baby will be due early next year, so it's kind of exciting that our little ones are all very close in age. Also, I know who I can pass on little bun #2's barely worn baby clothes to (since he had outgrown most of them before he's got a chance to wear them..).

Little Bun is 20 Months Old!!

My cheeky champ is 20 months old today!! So far he's achieved the unachievable.. he has made his mummy a schizo!! This minute he makes me want to put him into the cupboard until his tantrums are over, and the next minute make me want to cover him with my kisses and hug him tight. I am at the crossroad where my head tells me to be a strict disciplinarian, but my heart goes all mushy and caves in when he looks at me with those innocent eyes.

At the ripe old age of 20 months, he REALLY knows how to push the right buttons and get his way (and not feel a morsel of guilt). He makes me want to spank his bottoms this minute, and want to kiss his cheeks the next minute by simply calling me 'mama'. He says 'please' in the sweetest imaginable voice to get what he wants.. and his success rate hovers around 99%.

Happy 20 Months, little bun.. Congratulations, you have successfully wrapped both daddy and mummy around your grimy, saliva coated fingers!!!
