Hong Kong 2014 - Day 04

This had been a whirlwind holiday, it was mainly planned with the boys in mind. No shopping for Mark and I this time, which is a first for Mark and I as we usually shop a lot when we are in Hong Kong. This time, all I got for myself was a Pooh bear iPhone cover (and Mark didn't have anything)!

We have reached the final day of our short trip =(. Although tiring, all 4 of us enjoyed ourselves and the time we spent together as a family. Memories that I will always treasure.

As we pack to leave, Mark had to hide little bun's much-loved Toy Story balloon in the closet (no way we can take it home with us). **sob** Bye, Woody. (Woody is little bun's favorite cartoon character at the moment, along with Elmo and Mickey.. Barney has lost his spot).

Snow White turned-up while we were checking out!
(Unfortunately for her, the boys were not the least bit interested in her)

Hong Kong 2014 - Day 03

Another day in Disneyland!! (We have 2 day pass so might as well make full use of it..) Unfortunately it was a rather wet day, good thing I packed in some hooded sweaters for the boys!

That night, the boys got to meet with Mickey after we watched the fireworks display on the balcony. So happy that the boys got to get up close and personal with the star attraction! This is one of the main highlights of the trip and glad it happened on our last night in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong 2014 - Day 02 (Part 2)

While we were on our way to Disneyland, little bun asked to 'hold hand'.. LOVE it when he does that.. I wish he will want to 'hold hand' with me for a long, long time to come.

At the entrance of Disneyland.. He was more fascinated with the huge water fountain than Mickey or Minnie. BOL!!! ('Water fountain' is one of the latest word that he has picked up).

Prince Den-den and 'his' castle in the background

The Prince is knackered.. dozed off in his 'carriage'!

One of  the perks for being on the Club floor is a nightly bedtime story photo-op with one of the characters, usually either Mickey or Minnie. On our first night there, we met Minnie!

Happy trio walking back to the room after meeting Minnie..
I am sure it will be a night filled with sweet dreams!

Hong Kong 2014 - Day 02 (Part 1)

I was hoping that the boys would sleep in (so that I can catch up on my sleep). No such luck. Both boys woke up at 7am (their usual time), fully charged and energized.  **Sigh**

We had a leisurely morning  and had breakfast in the hotel (which didn't turn out very well cos Den-den decided that he didn't want to sit still and attempted to climb on the table). Mark and I are fully trained by now in a very unique skill - speed eating.

Some bun fell asleep in the cab on our way to The Disneyland Hotel where we will be spending 2 nights. My funny boy clung onto his bottle of apple juice throughout the ride.

Mr Ayden was making himself at home at the Club Lounge where we were checking in. Mark booked us into the Club rooms without letting me know. Although I was rather annoyed that he kept it from me, I have to admit it was a great decision because we had full access to the Club Lounge and several 'perks' that came with it... all day access to food, free flow of wine and beer during 'happy hour', access to the balcony where we could see fireworks every night, etc..

The Piglet cookie was to become little bun's favorite.. he ate heaps of it (free flow too) and loved biting off Piglet's ears and then looking at me while covering his own ears and saying 'pain pain'!

Little bun's creation.. Pooh and Piglet with their ears bitten off

The boys sharing cookies..

Family time on the huge lawn in front of the hotel!
Both boys had a wonderful time running around..

Daddy planned a surprise for the boys.. he organized for balloons in the room and when the boys, little bun especially, saw them, he was so happy and excited.

Hong Kong 2014 - Day 01

We woke up very early for our 8.30am flight to Hong Kong and I am so thankful we set aside enough time because in the midst of getting myself and the boys ready and ensring everything that should go into the luggage are inside the luggage, I must have lost my mind. 10 minutes into our journey to the airport, I suddenly realized that I have left the bag containing the boys' milk and milk bottles on the dining table!! **smacks forehead**

Good thing it was discovered then and NOT when we are already at the airport or in the plane!! Cannot imagine what it'd be like.. **shudders**..

Other than that little episode, we made it to Hong Kong with our sanity intact. As expected, little bun had a meltdown episode while the plane was waiting to take off. We sat on the tarmac for quite a while and Mr Crabby Pants decided he's had enough and wanted to get up and walk.

We finally made it to JW Marriott Hong Kong and by the time we checked in, we were quite tired and famished, so Mark did what he does best - call for room service! Love the location of this hotel (stayed here previously a couple of times for work) and the rooms. We were upgraded (yay!!) so had a spacious room.

This is a very special day for Den-den cos it was at the hotel that he took MANY unaided steps!! In fact, he spent much of the afternoon walking around the room and he took a keen interest specifically in the bathroom (??!).

After we had rested enough, we decided to brave it and make our way to The Peak. It was a good 15-20min walk to the tram station from our hotel (15min walk is nothing, but try carrying a nearly 11kg baby walking up a slope) and carrying a bag with milk bottles/ millk powder/ diapers/ wet wipes, etc. On top of it, there was a queue. A very long queue. WTF? Why are there so many people on a weekday?!! But since we are already there, what the heck right?

Family photo at The Peak

FML. The queue for the tram on the way back was even worse than the one going up. Not that we have any choice cos that's the only way back. We stood in line for almost 30min (yup, still carrying my nearly 11kg baby and the works).. plus the 15-20min walk back to the hotel from the tram station.

By the time we reached the hotel, it was past 10pm (way past the boys' bedtime) and Den-den had actually dozed off on my shoulder. I am amazed by my own strength.. I have carried him in my arms for over 3.5 hours!!

So there, our first day/ night in Hong Kong. (I slept well that night, really, really well..)

Ayden is ONE (Part II)

We held a small-ish birthday party for Den-den, with mostly family and close friends. The birthday boy was really sporting and wore his birthday party hat for a long time (unlike his big brother whom I recall was highly uncooperative during his own 1st birthday party).

The birthday boy had a great time being the center of attention and received a lot of red packets and new toys (our living room is seriously looking more like a childcare center!).

Ayden is ONE (Part I)

Mark and I took the afternoon off from work on Den-den's birthday to take him out.. Since it is his big day, it was an unanimous decision that little bun will be at grandma's daycare (as per normal) while we took Den-den out. So yes, he is the only child for those few hours and had our undivided attention!

We took him to an indoor playground and he had a great time exploring the place. Definitely will be back soon with both boys.. am sure little bun will love the place too.

With the birthday boy.

Looking so grown up...
