Little Bun is 21 Months Old!! (and his Daddy is 34 Years Old!!)

21 months old today.. only 3 more months till he turns 2!! Still not sure yet if we will throw a little party for him. No more big bash this time, perhaps just a small celebration with our immediate family. I am sure he'd love for us to sing him the birthday song and let him blow out his candle!

***********************************************************

Next, I'd like to wish someone whom I love with all my heart a very Happy 34th Birthday!!

Darling, you are the love of my life, the best husband a girl can ever ask for, and the best daddy in the whole wide world!! I feel so blessed to have found true love in your arms and I feel so proud to call you my husband.

Wishing you all the best things in life...

I think my chubby bun has lost some weight. Don't get me wrong, he's still sleeping/ feeding/ peeing/pooing well and as cheerful as ever, but he just seems less chubby than before. My mom said he could be losing his baby fat.

He is due for his follow-up vaccination in 2 more weeks so it'd be interesting to see how much he has put on.

Oh and other than weight, he's losing what little hair he was born with too, but I do like the look. His hair is beginning to grow out and they are so very soft! I love to rub my chin against his head to feel the soft hair.. heheheheh...

Mark introduced little bun to Shrek a couple of weeks back and oh boy, was it the biggest mistake ever!! Little bun is totally besotted with the show and we have been watching it EVERY night before his bedtime. Every night between 7.30pm to 9.30pm, it is Shrek time in our house. On weekends, we sometimes watch it up to 3 times a day (not kidding!!). This means that Mark and I have to give up our regular programs on TV in order to watch Shrek with him.

Little bun can sit quietly in front of the TV for a good 45 min to 1 hour to watch the show. We have tried to introduce him to the sequels so that we can have a breather from watching that same movie over and over again and again (and again), but he insisted on watching only the first one.. I prefer the sequels with Puss in Boots in them.

Another 3 hours to go till 'Shrek o'clock'.

Little Bun #2 is 4 Months Old!!

My jovial little bub is 4 months old!! Cannot believe it was only 4 months ago when I gave birth to him... it just feels like he's been with us forever! I know I have said this many times, but he is really such a lovable and easy-going kid that he makes me feel like going out to have another baby!! (Okayyyy, I am just kidding about the last part..)

Happy 4th Month, my sweetest 'den-den' ('den' as in Ayden) boy! May you continue to grow healthily and happily.. and may you continue to bring so much joy to everyone you meet!

Little bun and his god-sister aka my god-daughter, Rynnae!!

While she is only 10 months older than he is, she behaves like a real big sister!! She is always looking out for little bun (who sadly, wasn't very appreciative of her good intentions!!) and allows him to share her toys and take away her treats. When he was cranky (naptime), she promptly handed his favourite toy over to Mark (who was carrying the cranky bun). Such a little sweetheart.. and she is getting prettier by the day too!

For us adults, it was so funny watching the two of them toddling around the house, talking baby talk and gesticulating wildly... I suppose only they can understand each other!

The Lee Family's version of 'The Fantastic Four' (mini edition). The 2 elder ones are born 10 months apart in 2011, and the 2 younger ones are born 2 months apart in 2013. When the 2 little ones start running around in another year's time, the 4 of them will be a force to reckon with... There  will be chaos in the house when the four are together and no adults will be spared! LOL!!

"Ummm mom, can you put away the camera please?"

"Ohhh.. what is that you have put on my head? Please take it off!!"

Bruised Bun

Poor little bun fell off his tricycle... while the impact of fall wasn't bad, he scrapped and bruised his forehead. Of course it resulted in a brawling episode (him) and someone fluttering around like a hysterical chicken without a head (me) trying to assess his injury/ clean his wound/ calm him down, etc.

Trying REAL hard to remind myself not to be an over-protective/ paranoid mom, but it is REALLY hard. I know all kids are prone to falls/ bruises/ scrapes and what not, and I cannot and should not be over protective of him or else he'd end up a mummy's boy, but I REALLY want to wrap him up in bubble wrap and keep him close to me where I can always protect and watch over him.

Okayyyyy.. Fine, I know it was just a superficial wound that'd heal up in no time, but he IS my precious.

Sigh....

Good thing Mark is here to keep the balance and keep me sane. (Deep down, I think it pained Mark as much as it pained me too, but in order to keep me sane, he acted really calm about the whole thing.)

And so we start a brand new school term... We managed to changed little bun to an earlier class at 9am (previously it was at 11.30 am, which clashed with his nap time) and this worked out so much better for him. He was happy and alert throughout the class, and the kids in this class were closer to his age group than the previous class. Most of them were around 2 years old, give and take a couple of months, whereas the previous class had more kids who were around 3 years old. Another plus point is that the class size is smaller too, so it's less rowdy/ chaotic!!

Happy to see that my little champ is happy to be back in class after a month long break. This time round, he displayed a lot more confidence (just check out how he happily plopped himself right in front of the class/ teacher!!). Previously he would rather sit on daddy's lap.

This is his favourite toy in the school.. never fails to make a beeline for it when class is out!

Me and my sleeping prince... Love how soundly he was able to sleep in my arms despite the noise around us (and for some strange reason, I love to sniff his head.. hmmm.....). He is quite different from his big brother in this aspect because little bun is a very light sleeper and any slightest noise keeps him awake or wakes him up. On the contrary, little bun #2 is usually able to snooze through noise and chaos.

Confessions of the 'Perfect' Wife

On Saturday, Mark caught me unaware by asking me if I knew how long we've been married for. To be honest, I hadn't thought about it at all but a quick calculation told me that this is is our 10th wedded year! Ahhhh... 10 years of being 'Mrs Lee'.

A friend very recently commented that ours is a 'match made in heaven'.. I don't dare to admit or take any credit for that. Not because I am trying to be modest, but because this couldn't be further from the truth. The only difference is that both Mark and I are willing to overlook and/or work through all the imperfections to make it work. I cannot stress on how important it is to 'agree to disagree', and the other rule that I swear by is to never go to bed with a quarrel unsettled.

While our marriage may be faaaaaaaaaaaar from perfect, it is the imperfections that make the whole journey more exciting. It is how Mark has been putting up with my imperfections that made me realize just how much he loves me and is willing to put up with me (or maybe he is already become immune to it??). Our shared experiences also proved to me that this is the guy who quietly stood by me through thick and thin, ups and downs, highs and lows... As I have always said, I am blessed with a 'one man cheer leading squad'.

I certainly hope I am as good a wife to him as he is a husband to me. Other than my OCD in wanting certain things to be done my way, my quick temper, my hot temper (it has mellowed down a lot.. REALLY), my nagging (not my fault, women are programmed this way), my forgetfulness (I have become more forgetful after each pregnancy.. I don't know the link but I swear I USED to have the memory of an elephant until the boys came along.. I'd be glad I can remember my husband's name these days!), my recent obsession with my newly curled hair (LOL!!), I think I am as close to a perfect wife that anyone can ask for.

Just did a quick google and apparently, the traditional 10 year wedding anniversary gift is one of tin or aluminium (WTF???). Ummm.. darling, if you are reading this, maybe you can get me....ehhh... an aluminium pot??!
