Mark and I were so tickled to see little bun behave so 'lovingly' towards his iPAd... we have seen him laying his head on the iPad on a number of occasions. I guess he likes the 'Old McDonald' song...

Car Shopping

I have no idea what possessed me last weekend, but I allowed Mark to bring me to the car showroom! Normally I never fail to find excuses to say no, but this time, I think I was drugged or hypnotized (or something). Off we went... Mark promised that it'd be a quick look-see, but we ended up spending over 2 hours there. PLUS we went back on Sunday for ANOTHER 2 hours!!

Anyway, fact is our current car is a tad too small plus we have driven it for a while now, so the time has come for us to lookout for a potential new ride for our little family. But the prices of cars (more like the COEs) are at a crazy level... It's not that we need a new car now, but speculation is that the COE prices will continue to rise even further. So yes, we are in a dilemma now...

Little bun saw a red 'car' which he liked and I was so ready to buy it for him as his first birthday present.. unfortunately, it wasn't for sale! BOO!! 

Little bun: Papa, I like this car...

Little bun: Ummm.. Papa, I WANT this car okay?

This little boy sleeps in the weirdest and most uncomfortable looking positions. The above is just one of the many different sleeping styles of little bun. Many times I wake up in the middle of the night to find his head tucked snugly into my underarms; against Mark's groin (yup, not kidding); nestled on Mark's shoulder (this made me very jealous); with his leg/s on MY face; with his diaper bum pressed against my cheeks, etc.

Scout is little bun's bedtime friend.. Our nightly routine before little bun drifts off to slumberland is he will listen to 10 minutes (sometimes more) of Scout's bedtime lullabies. 

Two little greedies begging for a share of the bun that I was eating. I used to only have to share my food with Hershey, now even Hershey has got competition! Both will not take no for an answer and both are really persistent.. Little bun sure picked his 'teacher' well!

Little bun's latest toy from his doting dad.. It's a pot with a variety of vegetables.. to be exact, it's a talking/ interactive pot. Rather freaky if you ask me, certainly NOT something I'd buy for him, but then little bun gets away with anything when his dad is involved.  

First Fashion Faux Pas!!

Little bun committed the first fashion faux pas of his young life... Mark and I made an impromptu decision to eat out one evening without letting my mom know in advance and when we picked little bun up from Grandma's Daycare after work, he was dressed in his pyjamas!! 

Don't think it bothered him one single bit though!! 

Little Bun's Birthday Cake

We finally placed our order for little bun's birthday cake.. I had been googling for bakery and got utterly lost and confused by the vast choices available in the market! I also wanted to find one that charges reasonably cos from my 'research', the going market rate for a 3kg to 4kg 2-tier cake was around S$350 and up! **gulp** I think that's way over my budget although I know Mark will gladly fork out the moolah.

Anyway, after weeks of research,  I came across an Italian restaurant cum bakery. When Mark and I tried out their cakes, they were to die for.. super duper rich.. just the way Mark likes them. (It probably does nothing but contribute another few inches to my expanding waistline, but oh well, it's my champion's birthday and I think I get to indulge!). We ended up paying more than what I'd budgeted for cos Mark was being the usual pain in the a** by going "Ohh, I want this".. "Let's add that".. "Let's get a bigger one".. etc.

Mark and I sort of got to design the cake from scratch. Bearing in mind that neither of us are artistic or have a creative flair, it caught us unaware as I thought I could simply pick out a design from the catalogue of over 1000 cake designs for various occasions.  Anyway we did what any good parents have to do and designed our little boy's cake to the best of our ability. I am crossing my hands/legs/fingers/toes/eyes that it turns out nice and we don't ruin our son's first birthday cake!! The scariest thing is we will only find out on the day itself.. (which is another scary thought cos in case it turns out to be a disaster, I won't have any time to run out and buy a replacement).

Little Bun's First Mid Autumn Festival

Over the weekend we celebrated little bun's very first Mid Autumn Festival. I gave him his first taste of the yummy durian mooncake which I love, and Mark and I took him out for a ride on his Smart Trike along with the lantern that I got for him. 

I think my poor confused bun was bewildered where we were taking him when it was close to his bedtime. As we seldom take him out at night, I think he was a little uncomfortable with the darkness..

Little bun: Ehhh mom.. it's almost my bedtime, where are you taking me??

Little bun: **Screeching** I don't like the dark!! I don't like the flashing lights!! 

I wanna go HOME right now!!!

So much for our 'leisurely stroll'... ended up Mark had to carry little bun and I had to push is tricycle along. Better luck next year!

During our expedited stroll (no thanks to little bun!!), I looked up at the clear night sky with the bright full moon and asked Mark if our Angels are with us and watching over us.. his reply was "Yes, sure". Hmmm.. I hope he is right.
