We decided to go on a staycation on one of the weekends early this month as a joint celebration for both Mark and my birthday, and at the same time enjoy the fireworks display from the Singapore National Day preview since it was a week away from the actual day. We decided to splurge on our choice of hotel and while it burnt a hole in my pocket, it was money well spent as the boys had a wonderful time there. Even until now, little bun keeps asking us to 'go hotel'! As much as I'd love to indulge in his request, unfortunately for him his mommy doesn't earn enough for that kind of luxury.

We had drinks at the poolside prior to checking-in..

The boys wanted to go to the pool right after we checked into the room and deposited our bags!

The boys spent sooooo much time in the pool that I had to issue several stern 'warnings' before they reluctantly agreed to go back to the room. I wanted to make sure we had enough time for dinner and catch the fireworks!!

Here is the highlight of our day - fireworks!!! We had an awesome unblocked view from the balcony of our room and the boys were a tad frightened by the loud booms each time a firey cluster went off..

Little Bun is 34 Months Old!!

2 more months to go before little bun turns (OMG!!) - THREE years old! Where did all the time go? He is now a chatterbox and chattering away non-stop, either to us, to his toys, to himself (uh huh), to Den-den, to Hershey, etc.. I guess he is at the age where he is learning things so fast by watching and then picking up the things we say/ do.

**Knocking on wood**.. his temper tantrums are getting better (shorter duration, easier to snap him out of them and fewer and far between). Praying hard that we are now almost over and done with with  the 'Terrible Twos' phase. I always thought that 'terrible twos' are a myth, but now I am a beliver. (Geeez.. we a few more months to go before Den-den enters his 'Terrible Twos'!) Hoping that at least when Den-den enters his 'Terrible Twos', little bun will be in his 'Terrific Threes' (ok I made that up.. I can dream, can't I?).

Little bun is also getting very generous with his hugs and kisses to me.. whenever I ask for a hug or a kiss from him, he'd usually (unless distracted by something that is more interesting than his mother) run over to me from wherever he is and give me a big embrace. These are the moments that I live for, and these are the moments that make everything else seem insignificant.

Mommy love you heaps, little bun..

Little Bun #2 is 17 Months Old!!

Mommy's little sidekick is 17 months!! His latest hobby is clinging to my leg and 'pole dancing' when I am least expecting it, eg. like when I am standing in front of the stove making their lunches, or when I am vacumning the house. Makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time cos I'd have to end up dragging 12kg around the house with me until he decides that he's had enough or when something else more interesting distracts him.

He is developing his own character and will now stand firm on what he wants.. this also means that fight for toys between him and little bun are getting more frequent. They used to fight over the iPad until I gave up my iPad mini to them.. so between the 2 boys, they have a grand total of FIVE iPads. 2 at home, 2 at grandma's daycare and 1 in the car. I hope the know how lucky they are..

Den-den's favourite cartoon character is still Elmo (little bun's was Barney at this age).. he loves to snack (like his mommy!!) and is still such an eaaaaaaaaaasssssy kid to take care of. His current favourite activity is following his big brother around the house and copying whatever big brother is doing (which is NOT such a good thing sometimes). These 2 will be a force to reckon with when they get bigger.. We are so totally blessed he is in our lives and part of our growing family!

Den-den looking all boyish and grown-up after his recent hair cut. Not that he needed a haircut, his brother needed it a lot more (if little bun's hair grew any longer, people will start thinking he's a girl). However, when my mom brought both boys to the salon (with the intention of getting little bun's hair cut), the sly big brother refused to step into the salon and dragged my mom away to the nearby playground.

So the poor little brother ended up being the 'victim'. He happily went along with it, with nary a whimper for the entire duration. Cannot believe HOW DIFFERENT it was the last time we cut little bun's hair!! He screamed and cried throughout the process.. it was traumatic for everyone involved. And now look at what a breeze it is to cut Den-den's hair! Both from the same 'factory' but as different as can be.. I don't get it!!

Where flowers bloom so does hope...(Part III)

My plant is flowering again!! So the last round was to serve as a 'warning' to Mark, which he didn't heed. So don't say I laid a booby trap for you, darling. You were duly warned but you chose to ignore the warning!

My boys contentedly fountain-watching! Simple pleasures in life - Just watching them sitting there happily staring at the fountain and pointing out excitedly to me whenever a jet of water sprays through the air!
