Yup... School excursion AGAIN!!! Have lost count how many excursions he'd gone to ever since we sent him to school in January this year.. kids these days are SO lucky!

This time the school brought them to a fish farm (I think mainly aquarium fish).. and then horror of all horrors!! Each kid got to bring home a small tank with 5 or 6 guppy-like fishes (no idea what they are). I totally was not expecting this, and do not condone it. From the educational point of view, I don't think giving 3 year old kids live pets is a good idea at all. It is not good to give anything that is alive as gifts!! NOT that they know how to care for the fishes (except how little bun over zealously tries to overfeed them). From the point of view of a nervous parent, how am I supposed to explain to my kid when the fishes die?!! Grrrr... I am sure it was done with no ill intent, but someone clearly wasn't thinking.

Anyway, little bun was pretty excited about his new pets and I think he's named ALL of them 'Dorothy' (after Elmo's fish).

My sweet baby boy has become a 'Finger Monster'!! He searches for my thumb/s whenever he feels like it, but especially when he is tired and wants to daze/ nap. He will just quietly walk to wherever I am and regardless of what I am doing, he will reach for my thumb/s (could be either or both, whichever option he feels like at that moment) and start rubbing in a trance-like way.

If I pull away or walk away, he will get really upset (which is a rare thing for him).

I caught him in the act yesterday evening...

Dear Son,
Momma would really like to have her thumbs back, pretty please?!

Errrr.. Is it me or does Den-den look bigger than little bun in this pic? (For the record, they weigh the same now.)

Little Bun is 3 Years Old!!

This lucky little boy has not one, but THREE birthday cakes for his 3rd birthday.

His birthday fell on a Saturday so on the day before, we brought a cake and some goodie bags for a small celebration in his class. I think he was quite stunned and puzzled to see Mark and I appear in his class out of the blue.

On the actual day, we had another mini celebration at home with yet another Toy Story cake (slightly different from the one the day before) just before we headed off to our staycation.

Funniest pic ever.. birthday born is yawning and his little brother is looking somewhat annoyed.

After that we checked into a hotel at Sentosa (it was a rather last monute decision to book a staycation.. I caved in cos he kept asking to 'go hotel' for the few days before his birthday. I suspect Mark put him up to it.) Glad we did it anyway cos the boys (Mark included) had lots of fun...

The big, big bed and my 2 small, small boys

Little bun was happily rolling on the (artificial) grass at the private patio that is just outside our room. I think Mark thought it'd be funny to put Den-den on him to stop his rolling.. It worked!

A classic example of 'Monkey see, Monkey do'

Birthday boy competely knocked out at 7.30pm while we were waiting for room service to deliver his 3rd cake!!

The father and little brother happily bonding - this is a rare moment cos usually little bun demands all of his daddy's attention!

 Shhh... don't tell kor kor!!

Next day someone woke up really early and FULLY charged.. continued his rolling on the grass and I have no idea why he placed that pebble on his forehead.

Clearly this little boy is still stoning..

After breakfast, it is off to the pool! The boys' favorite activity these days. I have spent a mini fortune on swimming diapers..

Little Bun is 3 Years Old!!

Happy 3rd Birthday to my pride, my joy, my everything... you are every breath I take, and the sunshine in my life. I love you more than I love life, and the very moment that I held you in my arms, my world is complete.

Three years ago, you made me realize that some miracles do come true. We never imagined that we would be the lucky chosen ones until we had you. You are the reason we look forward to life with a smile, and you are also the reason we look back on life with a smile.

爱你, 爱你!

Starting the preparation work for the giveaways for little bun's mini birthday party in school.. Lucky for me, he has a small class so I can afford to put in some time and effort into the goodie bags.

The theme for his party/ giveaways will be 'Toy Story'.. not that this is his favorite cartoon, but he doesn't seem to have any clear favorites from all the cartoons that he knows (Shrek, Toy Story, Tayo, Pororo, Barney (this was an old fav which he's now outgrown), Madagascar, Dora, Mickey and friends, Monsters Inc, Pooh and friends, Minions, etc etc etc... lost track). Don't know how/why, but we settled on the Toy Story theme and I will be getting him 2 Toy Story cakes (one for school and one for home) and have bought some Toy Story themed giveaways to be included in the goodie bag.

My little boy is growing up. **wistful sigh**

Little Bun #2 is 19 Months Old!!

My 'baby' is 19 months old!! He has turned into a 'Pacifier Monster' of late and been reaaaally attached to his pacifier. Trying my best to wean him off this habit but sometimes I cannot resist when he looks at me and goes 'duuuu duuuu' (this is what he calls his pacifier). It also doesn't help that my mom likes to give him the pacifier as it sort of puts him in a trance and he becomes really easy to manage (not kidding).

As he grows up, he is becoming more aware of his surroundings and in a way, more demanding. He now knows how to fight for what he wants (mainly the iPad) and wouldn't hesitate to 'tell his brother off' if the latter annoys him. In order to prevent sibling scuffle, I have relinquished the iPad mini which I received as a Christmas present from Mark last year.

His vocabulary is also growing on a daily basis and just this morning, he was sitting alone on the bed counting from one to three (and when he reaches 3, he starts again at 1). He can also pronounce 'Hershey' really well and his favourite and most frequently uttered word is still 'kor kor' (big brother), followed by 'no' (insert vehement shaking of  the head).

Cannot believe this baby is going to become a big brother in just another few months..

Took them to the park nearby again cos everyone was up early and begining to get restless.

My little, little boy lost in the big, big playground..

Brothers at play.. (Den-den's head is bigger than little bun's?!!)

Crawled up/ through the tunnel all by himself!!
(Not that I didn't want to help but I don't think I can fit)

We made full use of every single minute of the 3 day long weekend by spending time with the boys. When the time came to go back to work on Tuesday, Mark and I were utterly exhausted and missing the boys badly.

Recently the boys have been quite obsessed about going to the pool, especially Den-den. He will run to where I keep his swim suit, point to it and repeatedly chant 'schwimming' in that cute gibberish way of his. Nowadays weekends normally include an outing to the pool (good thing the pool is just a 3 min walk away, otherwise such outings will be few and far between).

The 2 exhausted boys being carried home by (the even more exhausted) Daddy.

This is a belated post on the recent Mid Autumn festival which we celebrated at little bun's school. His organised an event/ fair for the kids and their families and surprisingly, Mark was rather keen to participate cos he claims that the boys would enjoy it. So off we went!

I got the boys identical Barney lanterns so they wouldn't have any excuse to fight over them.. Little bun's lantern is the Barney with the blue shirt which we bought for him last year and Den-den's Barney is wearing the yellow shirt and this one was newly purchased.

My 2 princes!

The event was like a little carnival within the compounds of the school and it was very nicely decorated with lanterns. Little bun got to enjoy his very own ice-cream cone that evening too! (To be honest, I am not sure if he really enjoyed it.. I believe he is the only kid I know who doesn't fancy ice-cream).
