Loving the Jumperoo!!

Getting the Jumperoo for little bun is one of the best decisions that Mark made (independently). I admit I was rather annoyed when Mark first bought it but now the Jumperoo is a god-send!! Whenever we need some time to do things around the house (especially when only one of us is at home with little bun), we will 'deposit' the son in the Jumperoo. IF we succeed (little bun is wary of the Jumperoo now and will stick his legs straight out when we try to put him in and it becomes an almost impossible effort), we earn ourselves at least 15 minutes grace period where we can either use the bathroom (hallelujah!!) or do some quick household chores (like feeding Hershey). 

Mark's success rate at putting little bun in the Jumperoo is a lot higher than mine.. My success rate hovers around the 50%-60% mark... Mark is successful almost 95% of the time. Hmmm... I think I need more practice.

The Jumperoo also comes in really handy when I am trying to feed little bun. At least he is confined in that space and cannot crawl/ climb away from me. He's soooooo incredibly active that I am seriously contemplating to get one of those 'baby leash' I saw at Mothercare (see picture on the left). **cue evil laugh**.  Ok ok, they call it a 'baby harness, not 'baby leash', whatever... Check out the cute doggie design too.. yet another plus point!! When I casually mentioned this to my mom-in-law previously, she balked at the idea of her grandson being leashed like a dog. Hehehe..

Mummy's Darling Boy

I absolutely LOVE the 2 photos below of little bun and I (other than my geeky glasses and my messy just-out-of-bed hair). Is it even possible to put into words how much I love and adore him?

I have to make sure little bun likes his colors... Since it was a public holiday here on Monday, I prepared a batch of pureed carrots, pureed sweet potatoes and pureed broccoli for him... I made extra to freeze for the week so he can have it with his porridge or on its own.

So far he seems to like the carrot and sweet potato, but can't say the same for the broccoli. I think I will try some fruits for the next round..

The one who makes me smile one minute and makes me want to pull my hair out the next!!

Little Bun is 10 Months Old!!

My little 10-month-old bun playing with his very first Mickey toy that my friend bought for him from the Disneyland in Paris. Can't believe he will be turning one in 2 month's time... I know I SHOULD already be planning for his little party, but between work and keeping him occupied, it is an almost impossible feat. Mark had been bugging me to get started on it since a month ago!!

I shall strive to get cracking on it... I want it to be a memorable day for him. (Well, to be honest, I really don't think he will have any impression of it other than from looking at photos.)

Little bun sitting in the new high chair that Mark bought for him. Well it's actually not 'that' new.. we have bought it about 2 months back but just didn't let him sit in it cos he wasn't able to hold his head very well then and would risk either sliding all the way down the seat and/or knocking his head on the table. 

Hoping that he will like to sit there and self-entertain so that it allows our aching arms a well-deserved rest.

Little bun is loving HIS iPad. Yup, it officially belongs to him now since neither Mark nor I can use it in peace as long as little bun is around. Every time he lays his eyes on the iPad, he makes a beeline dash for it and his short, stubby thumb (he uses his thumb instead of his index finger to 'poke') starts jabbing away at the screen.

Below photos were taken on different occasions. I thought it was incredibly cute how little bun dozes off while still gripping onto his toy. Perhaps he was afraid that someone might steal it from him while he's asleep?

Watching him suck on his thumb while nodding off to dreamland reminded me of a certain someone. --> ME!! I was a chronic thumb-sucker throughout my childhood and my mom managed to successfully rid me of this bad habit when I was about 8 years old. By then, I had a noticeable mark on my right thumb of my 2 lower incisors. Thankfully that scar faded away through the years.  

Ummm.. Papa, I don't need to use toothpaste yet?!!

This is the first time we put little bun in a shopping trolley. He seemed to like it at first and was grinning cheerfully away.. this lasted all of 3 minutes before he started yelling to be let out.  

Sunday morning breakfast with papa at Starbucks!! Little bun is an early riser like Mark, so I think my chances of sleeping in on weekends are very slim. 

Here are some lessons I have learnt as I turned 35 recently… NEVER. SAY. Never. 

I’ll also throw in a ‘expect the unexpected’ and to always keep the faith.

Working from home has its pros and cons.. Well, actually there is only ONE con. The sole 'con' is that there is one big (but rather cute) distraction.

(Ok, for the record, we weren't doing a à la Britney Spears. I'd like to think that we are more sensible than that. We were actually at a car wash.)

Happily chewing away on his new 'Chocolate' teether... Hope it helps soothes his teething pain.

Teefies... and more Teefies

Little bun's teefies are all beginning to emerge. So far the upper right central incisor and the lower left lateral incisor have already broken through the gums and there are 3 more waiting to emerge on the bottom. The upper left central incisor should be breaking through his gums anytime soon as we can see a tiny bit of white protruding through the gums (**ouch**).

I guess this would explain his recent lack of appetite, and the occasional crankiness could be attributed to the teething. His newly acquired teefies also make breastfeeding a pain, literally!! I really don't know how long more I can continue to latch him on as he grows even more teefies.

Spending my 35th birthday with my 2 boys and my sister.. There was no big celebration, just a simple and quiet dinner at one of my favourite restaurants. To think of it, I didn't even have a birthday cake, but honestly it didn't matter one bit cos I already have the things that matters the most to me - my family!

Hit by a Tornado!

This is the general condition of our house these days. It looks like a tornado had just hit. Actually a tornado did land in our house, and this tornado's name is 'Kyran' (plus invaluable contribution from cyclone Hershey). Those two are a lethal tag-team!
